Sharon (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a background that includes work with children and adults in individual, family and group therapy settings. She is passionate about supporting individuals as they move towards wellness, acceptance, openness and self-understanding. Her focus areas include anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and trauma, with a specialty in supporting Autistic individuals as a Certified Autism Disorder Clinical Specialist.
Sharon earned her undergraduate degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration from Grand Valley State University and has spent more than ten years working in the field of social work with various nonprofit organizations in the Grand Rapids area.
Sharon then earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University and has dedicated herself to outpatient therapy where she is excited to offer a safe environment for individuals to build healthy connections and improve their overall wellbeing. Additionally, Sharon is an adjunct faculty member in the School of Social Work at Grand Valley State University teaching clinical skills to the next generation of social workers.
Sharon has an integrative therapeutic approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and interpersonal interventions. She acknowledges and celebrates that culture and identity are deeply connected to the therapeutic process and she provides a welcoming space for each individual regardless of their background to heal, explore, develop insight, practice healthy coping tools, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
